Bikoi Day 1: The journey begins

Mana candidate Val Irwin's campaign to win the East Coast seat kicks into full gear with a bikoi - a bicycle hikoi - starting today in Ruatoki on the Western side of the electorate and ending in Turanga - Gisbourne - on the Eastern side on the 16th of November. Cycling across the electorate to raise awareness of Mana's policies, Val and his team will be posting regular updates on his trip and the campaign as it continues to election day, 26th November 2011.

The Man, the bike!

Val's family connections span the whole electorate and the beginning is at the Tuhoe marae of Tawhake in Ruatoki.
